Jenny Lee

A former professional dancer, Jenny’s classes are inspired by the traditions of Iyengar, Ashtanga, and all forms of dance. She began pursuing yoga when injury led to the end of her journey in dance and brought her on a new and more fulfilling path.

She was first introduced to yoga through Ashtanga in 2006, and was attracted to the athleticism and dedication that felt similar to ballet. After taking numerous week long intensives, she began her offering as a teacher after studying the Fundamentals of Ashtanga Vinyasa (Downward Dog Yoga Centre/ 15’), and later that year with Moksha Yoga. Since then she has received certifications in Moksha Flow & Restorative (Octopus Garden), and studied Vinyasa, Yin & Meditation.

While training and dancing professionally, Jenny has had the honour to tour the country with Canada’s Ballet Jörgen and The Chimera Project, studying classical and contemporary ballet under Svea Eklof Grey, Evelyn Hart, Roberto Campanella, Martin Vallee & Jennifer Foley.

Jenny hopes that her classes will bridge the gap between yoga and dance, creating a hybrid experience of body positivity, accessibility and therapeutics, while simultaneously challenging her students with diverse sequencing that reminds one not to take themselves to seriously.

Additional initiatives and passions include providing education and outreach for Eating Disorders through public speaking and charity work, after surviving her own decade long battle. She aspires to one day offer Yoga As Therapy For Eating Disorders for those who suffer and their families, to take her own practice off the mat and be of service to mental health.
